The Source (1999 film)

The Beat Generation - How it all started is a semi- documentary film about the Beat Generation. He appeared in 1999 under the original English title "The Source ". It was directed by Chuck Workman and the main characters were played by Johnny Depp, Dennis Hopper and John Turturro.

Action

The film is in semi- documentary style, the history and background of the " Beat Generation " dar. It begins in 1944, when meet the literary founder of this " Beat Generation " Allen Ginsberg, William S. Burroughs and Jack Kerouac at Columbia University. You are dissatisfied with the rules of society and piece by piece to outsiders. But they still give their voices heard, even if not always intentional. The film includes both original film clips and images as well as re-enactments, which provides an insight into the emergence of the Beat Generation.

In 2006 the film was re-released on DVD MCOne.

Synchronization

The film was not synchronized, there are only subtitles in different languages. Reason for this is that the texts are spoken in large part by Allen Ginsberg, William S. Burroughs and Jack Kerouac himself, what makes the documentary nature of the film. This would be partially lost by a full synchronization.
