The Sunshine Underground

The Sunshine Underground is an indie rock band from Leeds. The bands Muse, Manic Street Preachers, Daft Punk and the Chemical Brothers had large influences on their music style they describe themselves as indie rock with dance elements. The name comes from the eponymous song of the Chemical Brothers.

History

The band was founded in Shrewsbury in 1999. Shortly thereafter, they moved together to Leeds, because there they hoped to better performance opportunities. Through this step, they were what helped to Leeds bands to them first great successes. Soon she received the Live Band of the Year trophy in the LeedsMusicScene and appeared as the opening act for LCD Soundsystem on their tour.

In 2006, they went for the first time in Europe on festival tour and released their debut album in August Raise the alarm.

On February 1, 2010 they released their second album Nobody's Coming To Save You.

On February 21, 2011 Daley Smith announced that he would leave the band in April 2011. The reason he mentioned that he needed something new.
