The Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft

The Trolleybus Museum Sandtoft (English: The Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft - The Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft ) is an account opened in 1971, traffic museum, which specializes in the preservation of historic trolleybuses ( trolleybuses ). History

The Trolleybus Museum Sandtoft is to a large extent on the former site of the air base Sandtoft, during the Second World War, an operational base of the Bomber Command of the Royal Air Force ( RAF). The site was abandoned in 1958 by the Royal Air Force, becoming something broke over 10 years before it was acquired for the Museum in November 1969. The Museum

The museum is recognized for it, with about 60 copies to have the largest collection of preserved historic trolleybuses in Europe if not in the world. Most of the vehicles are roadworthy, some are in original condition, and some have been restored while others are still waiting for their reactivation. While the exhibits primarily come from the United Kingdom, the collection of cars from other countries is constantly increasing. These vehicles were purchased by the museum in the world while were donated over the years numerous items with reference to the trolleybuses or otherwise made ​​available. Except trolleybuses and other objects with regard traffic, the museum has a collection of souvenirs from the 1950s and 1960s. In addition, there is on the premises a specifically designed street scene from the 1950er/1960er years with fully furnished shop windows and personnel, while a bungalow which was formerly used as a gift shop, has now expanded to the living room to showcase more cultural exhibits from that time to can.
