The Vincent Award

The price The Vincent van Gogh Biennial Award for Contemporary Art in Europe ( briefly also called the Vincent Award) is awarded every two years to a young European artists whose outstanding works to influence contemporary art in a special and lasting way.

The prize of 50,000 Euro prize is donated by the Broere Charitable Foundation and was organized in 2000, 2002 and 2004 together with the Bonnefantenmuseum in Maastricht and in the years 2006 and 2008 with the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and awarded. The price is simultaneously connected with an exhibition of the works of the prize winner.

In 2008, an additional audience prize was awarded. 2010, no prize was awarded.

Others

The Austrian artist Peter Friedl renounced his nomination in 2008 and declined to participate in the competition.
