The Way of Georgia

Georgia's Way (Georgian საქართველოს გზა, Sakartwelos Gsa ) is a center-right party in Georgia. Your chairman is the former Georgian Foreign Minister Salome Zurabishvili.

History

The party was officially registered in Tbilisi on 11 March 2006. On March 12, an inaugural meeting was held in the Tiflisser Philharmonic, in which around 2,000 people took part. Initiator of the foundation was the former Foreign Minister Zurabishvili. Founded in November 2005, Salome Zurabishvili movement forms the core of the party.

Principle

The party is in opposition to the government of President Mikheil Saakashvili, whom she accuses of not having fulfilled the promise of the Rose Revolution of 2003. It is opposed to traditional clan structures in politics and society, with which civil rights are undermined again and again.

Georgia's Way calls for a real democracy based on human rights, the rule of law and separation of powers. The Parliament's rights against the government, the independence of the courts and the mass media should be strengthened. Private enterprise should be encouraged, and private property protected stronger. The spread in Georgia hate to be challenged and provided a climate of reconciliation and tolerance. Trouble
