The Worst Witch ( engl. The Worst Witch ) is a British children's series based on the eponymous series of books by Jill Murphy.
The series has four seasons each with 13 episodes. In England, the series ran from 1998 to 2002. Between 2005 and 2006, with new actors, a 26-part sequel produced in two seasons each with 13 episodes under the name The New Worst Witch. In Germany, the series ran from September 17, 1999 at KiKA.
Content
The main character of the series is Mildred hops, the worst witch school. Together with her friends she goes on gray stone Academy, a school for young witches. Mildred is not only bad at magic, she gets from a mess to the next. Such, it falls in the strict teacher, Ms. Harsch man in disgrace. In the fourth season Mildred Gray Stone Academy has been completed and is coming to Cambridge college. This season is also called The Worst Witch in Cambridge. Only alone their special ability to do things that she has drawn, to bring to life, she owes it that she has come to the College. There she finds both new friends and old friends, and of course she gets back from a mess to the next.

Edith Nightshade
Edith nightshade is a friend of Mildred. Your high-spirited pranks they always bring in difficulties from which Mildred must save them. Edith appeared in the fourth season of the series once more, when she visited Mildred on the Weird Sister College. They flew from her college because of too many parties and now do not know where they should go.
Mona Moonlight
Mona Moonlight is a friend of Mildred hops on gray stone academy.
Mrs. Harsch man
Mrs. Harsch man is a very strict teacher on gray stone academy, set it apart especially at Mildred hops. She also possesses magical powers, which she uses for it to surprise students.
Esther precious
Esther is a classmate of Mildred and the best in class. You and Mildred are from the first day on gray stone Academy at enemies. Esther tries again and again to bring Mildred in trouble, so she flies from school. In the fourth season of Esther is also a student on the Weird Sister College and must also share it all off a room with Mildred.

The television series is based on the eponymous book by Jill Murphy, which were also translated into German. In April 2002, the first German book was published with the title The Worst Witch. Meanwhile, five other books on German available: The Worst Witch conjures up further, The Worst Witch has a lot of bad luck, The Worst Witch flying to the sea, The lousy witch breaks the spell and The Worst Witch to the rescue.
