Theo Markelis

Theodore " Theo" Markelis (* June 24, 1992 in Melbourne) is an Australian football player.

Career

Markelis began at the age of six years with the football game at the Greek club embossed Brunswick City from the Melbourne's Brunswick, before moving to Green Gully SC at the age of ten years. In the age groups U- 13 to U- 15, he belonged to the State of Victoria and selection was founded in 2007 with eleven goals top scorer in the national junior championship. A little later Markelis moved at the age of 15 years in the youth development center of the Spanish club Valencia CF, where he played the following three years. In mid-2010 he left Valencia ahead and joined by a football school on the Genova International School of Soccer mediated trial jointly with his fellow countryman Steven Domenici and the New Zealander Liam Graham Vicenza Calcio. With the Australian U -20 team, the striker took in April 2010 participated in a trip to South America in July 2010 and won the AFF U-19 Championship in Vietnam. Soon after his move to Vicenza suffered Markelis a torn ACL and fell for half a year, his first game for the junior team of Vicenza in the Campionato Primavera he therefore denied in February 2011. Due to the injury, he also missed a possible participation in the U -19 Asia Cup in 2010.

After two years in Italy, where it does not make it past operations in the junior team of Vicenza, he returned in mid-2012 when his contract expires to Australia and signed a two year contract with the A- League team Melbourne Victory. To his debut in the A-League came Markelis by Substitutes for the season opener in the derby against Melbourne Heart ( Full 1:2 ). Once in the course of the season he could not sit down and was only a substitute in his five league inserts each, his contract was terminated in July 2013.
