Theodor Eimer

Gustav Heinrich Theodor Eimer ( born February 22, 1843 in Zurich, Switzerland, † May 29 1898 in Tübingen ) was a German zoologist.

In 1875 he became a professor of zoology and comparative anatomy at the University of Tübingen. According to him, the so-called bucket 's organs were named, which were found in moles. Was also named after him Einzellerart Eimeria. It also credited to him to have made the term orthogenesis popular. In 1879 he was elected a member of the Leopoldina. His final resting place he found on the mountain in Tübingen cemetery.
