Theodor Kober

Theodor Kober ( born February 13, 1865 in Stuttgart, † December 20, 1930 in Friedrichshafen, Germany ) was a German airship designer and deputy of Ferdinand Graf von Zeppelin.

Biography

The graduate engineer in 1892 committed by the Earl to draw up its airship plans and worked in the years 1892-1894 instrumental in the conceptual designs for the steerable draft with which were published in February 1894 in the " memorandum on the dirigible ." In the years 1899/1900 he participated in the development and construction of the first Zeppelin LZ 1.

In 1912 he founded the Flugzeugbau Friedrichshafen GmbH in Manzell (Bodensee). She produced successful naval aircraft and later Army aircraft for the German military during the First World War.

Kober Kober was with Anne, born Böltz married. They had five children, including the well-known German aviation engineer Ilse Essers, born Kober.

Honors

In his honor, is in Munich, Alt- Riem, named the Theodor Kober Street, as well as the Kober Street in Friedrichshafen.
