Theodore Katsanevas

Theodoros Katsanevas (Greek Θεόδωρος Κατσανέβας; * 1947 in Athens ) is a Greek economist and politician. From 1989 to 2004 he served as a deputy of the Socialist party PASOK Member of the Greek Parliament. In May 2013 he founded the Euro -critical party drachma - Greek Democratic Movement of five stars.

Life

Katsanevas has a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Piraeus and an MA from the University of Warwick. He received his doctorate in 1980 at the London School of Economics with a thesis on the trade union movement in Greece

In 1981 he married Sophia Papandreou, the daughter of the Greek Prime Minister Andreas Papandreou. In the same year he became president of the Public Employment Service OAED, 1985 Head of the Social Insurance Institution IKA.

1989 to 2004 he served as deputy of the Socialist party PASOK Member of the Greek Parliament. His marriage ended in divorce in 2000.

In May 2013 he founded the party drachma - Greek Democratic Movement of five stars, which requires, among other things, Greece's exit from the euro zone.

Katsanevas teaches at the University of Piraeus labor market theory, vocational guidance and personnel management.
