Life

A native of Upper Silesia Kupka first belonged to the staff of the Polish Plebiszitkommissariats. He had no training, but hoped for a rise, such as Józef Rymer, who was also not an academic. As the leaders as Wojciech Korfanty, Konstanty Wolny, Rymer or Brunon Kudera were scarce, he got a chance. Because of clashes that took their cause in the lower pay Kupka over other Commissioner members with higher education, he was released.

Disappointed, he went to the German Plebiszitkommissar Urbanek, who gave him money for the bilingual magazine - was " Wola ludu The will of the people". The magazine used Kupka finally to settlement with former comrades, of which he felt badly treated and he described it as " Polish nobles, Poznań Doctors and Galician Jews."

Later Kupka conductor supported by the Germans, Upper Silesian Autonomy Movement Confederation of Upper Silesia, which strove for an autonomous Upper Silesian state with both German Polish, but mainly Silesian identity. This idea found enough support neither in Germany nor in Poland.

On November 20, 1920 Kupka was assassinated by a Polish group of thugs. As murder suspect, the locksmith Henryk Myrcik was arrested, but released from pre-trial detention after a few days. There was neither a process nor place could ever be cleared of the murder, the investigation was partly hindered. At its Korfanty Biography Sigmund Karski ( Zygmunt Karski ) Wojciech Korfanty as principal of murder, without being able to provide conclusive evidence.
