Thierry Escaich

Thierry Escaich ( born May 8, 1965 in Nogent -sur -Marne ) is a French organist, composer and university teacher.

Life

His musical studies he conducted at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de through Paris, where he won eight first prizes, in harmony, counterpoint, fugue, organ, organ improvisation, analysis, composition and orchestration. In addition, he is the winner of major international composition and improvisation competitions.

In October 1992 Escaich was appointed Professor of fugal composition at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Paris, he is also a titular organist of the great organ in the parish church of Saint- Étienne -du -Mont in Paris, the former workplace of Maurice Duruflé and his wife since 1997 Marie- Madeleine. In addition to these offices he pursues a career as a composer and concert organist.
