This Heat

This Heat was a British band that made ​​the experimental music in the tension between progressive rock and post-punk and post-rock. The band was formed in 1976 by multi-instrumentalists Charles Bullen, Charles Hayward and Gareth Williams in Camberwell, London,. Band History

1977 John Peel played in his radio show demo recordings that This Heat was recorded at the home of Haywards parents. During this time the band also made recordings with the Ghanaian percussionist Mario Boyer Diekuuroh, parts of which appeared in 1982 on a cassette of the French experimental rock magazine Tago Mago, along with recordings of Albert Marcoeur. Later, the group set up a studio in a former cold storage room in Brixton.

In 1979 the first very experimental album This Heat, recorded between 1976 and 1978. Following year, the Health and Efficiency EP came out in 1981 then the second and last album by the band, Deceit.

Although the later recordings more oriented at Punk, remained from the commercial success. According to a recent European tour, the group dissolved in 1982.

In 1988, the Peel Sessions published (1996 again with bonus material). In 1993, hitherto unpublished photographs of This Heat, under the title Repeat on the market. The six - CD box Out of Cold Storage of 2006 includes all previously released publications of the band.
