Thomas Austin Murphy

Thomas Austin Murphy ( born May 11, 1911 in Baltimore, USA, † 17 November 1991), was suffragan bishop in Baltimore.

Life

Thomas Austin Murphy received on 10 June 1937, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On 19 May 1962, he was named by Pope John XXIII. Titular Bishop of Appiaria and Auxiliary Bishop of Baltimore. The Apostolic Delegate in the United States, Archbishop Egidio Vagnozzi, donated him on 3 July of the same year, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the Bishop of Richmond, John Joyce Russell, and the Bishop of Wilmington, Michael William Hyle.

May 29, 1984 Thomas Austin Murphy resigned as Auxiliary Bishop back in Baltimore.
