Thomas Brinkmann (field hockey)

Thomas Brinkmann ( born January 5, 1968 in Duisburg ) is a former German hockey player. He won an Olympic silver medal in 1988.

Thomas Brinkmann played like his brother Dirk for Uhlenhorst Mülheim; he was midfielder, but was also used in defense. He played from 1985 in the first team and was about winning than the Mülheim in 1985 their first league title in 21 years. By 1995, followed by seven more titles, won in 1987, the club also in the hall. From 1988 stood Brinkmann in several winning teams at the European Champions Cup.

In May 1987, Thomas Brinkmann debuted in the German national team. After he had occupied with the team in 1987 to third place at the European Championships, he took part in the 1988 Olympic Games in five games with, including in the Final NetherlandsNorth against the British. 1991 and 1994 he won the German team at the European Indoor Championships.
