Thomas Buffel

Thomas Buffel ( born February 19, 1981 in Bruges ) is a Belgian football player. He plays in the midfield, but can also be used in the attack.

Association

At the age of five years Buffel began his career with his hometown club in Ruddervoorde and signed ten years old at Cercle Brugge, before he moved to Feyenoord Rotterdam in the Netherlands. After he had remained largely at Feyenoord only in the reserve team, he had to borrow for two years at local rivals Excelsior Rotterdam, where he in 2001/ 02 for promotion to the Eredivisie contributed decisively, and then moved back to Feyenoord.

2005 moved Buffel after six years in the Netherlands to the Glasgow Rangers. In 2008, the change to Cercle Brugge took place in his home country Belgium. Since 2009 he plays for KRC Genk.

National

His debut in the Belgian national was Buffel of 12 October 2002 against Andorra. Since then, he has completed 35 games in which he scored six goals, and is a key player on the team the "Red Devils ".
