Thomas Cook Airlines is a British charter airline based in Manchester.

History

The foundation of the company took place on 1 September 1999 and started operations on 27 March 2000. It was created through the merger of Flying Colours Airlines and Caledonian Airways initially called JMC Airlines. In October 1999, the owner of Carlson Leisure Group merged with Thomas Cook. JMC Airlines was renamed on 31 March 2003 Thomas Cook Airlines.

In June 2007, Thomas Cook AG and MyTravel Group PLC merged to form Thomas Cook Group. By the end of March 2008 MyTravel Airways has been fully integrated into Thomas Cook Airlines.

In September 2011 it was announced that Thomas Cook Airlines is released in the course of restructuring measures 250 employees and ausflotten six aircraft.

In August 2013 it was announced that the base expanded in Manchester hub for long-haul flights and routes should be restructured accordingly. The model for this was its long-haul sister airline Condor in Frankfurt. In September 2013 Condor and Thomas Cook Airlines introduced their joint new brand identity, which is a completely new corporate design and a new paint job of the fleet in gray / white / yellow includes. The first machine of this painting was an Airbus A321 -200.

Destinations

Thomas Cook Airlines operates a route network of the resorts in Europe ( mainly the Mediterranean ), North Africa, Asia, North America and the Caribbean. It operates from its hubs Manchester and Gatwick as well as seasonally from other smaller British bases such as Belfast, Cardiff and Newcastle upon Tyne.

  • 03 Boeing 767 -300ER (for fall 2013 bzw.Winter 2 aircraft to Condor )
  • 01 Airbus A321 -200 ( acquisition in February 2014 Condor )
  • 01 Airbus A330 -200 (takeover in October 2013, formerly of bmi)

In addition, the parent company Thomas Cook Group six firm orders and three lease agreements for Airbus A321 -200, of which Thomas Cook Airlines is 2014/2015 received an unknown number.
