Thomas Curson Hansard

Thomas Curson Hansard (* 1776, † 1833) was a British printer. Hansard was known mainly as a result of the eponymous minutes of the meetings of the British House of Commons, Hansard, and the parliamentary committees of other English-speaking countries.

Hansard was born the son of Luke Hansard. In 1803 he established a printing house in London's Paternoster Street. 1809 Hansard began issued by Cobbett records of the British parliamentary debates ( Parliamentary Reports ) to print. 1812 sold the fallen into financial straits Cobbett its editorial to Hansard, the parliamentary reports since then not only printed, but allowed to give out too until his death. The collections he let pass the name Hansard in 1829 after his family name. According to Hansard's death, his brothers James and Luke Graves Hansard took over the publication of Hansard. 1889 took over the state-owned Hansard Publishing Union Limited publications of the parliamentary transcripts.

In addition, Hansard wrote the book Typographia on Historical Sketch of the Origin and Progress of the Art of Printing (1825 ).
