Thomas Dachser

Thomas Dachser ( born March 13, 1906 in Haldenwang (Schwaben ), † 11 April 1979 in Munich) was a German entrepreneur.

Vita

Thomas Dachser founded in 1930 in Kempten ( Allgäu) the Dachser logistics. Today the company, which is still family-owned, one of the largest logistics service providers in Europe.

Award

1977 Thomas Dachser has been awarded for his entrepreneurial and social commitment by the former Bavarian minister- president Alfons Goppel the Bavarian Order of Merit.

Thomas Dachser Memorial Prize

Love of Art in 1969 this Art Prize was established - first a Civic Award as private conceived and funded support for artists. Five years of the initially doped with DM 1200 Art Prize of the cheese factory and artist Karl Hoefelmayr ( 1907-1989 ) was donated until accepted the award 35 years ago, the Kempten haulier Thomas Dachser. Since his death the family donated the Dachser Art Prize, which is called since 1981 Thomas Dachser Memorial Prize and is now endowed with € 4,000.
