Thomas E. Gaddis

Thomas Eugene Gaddis ( born September 14, 1908 in Denver, Colorado, † October 10, 1984 in Portland, Oregon) was an American writer.

Life

Thomas E. Gaddis worked as a psychologist, expert witness and from 1962 to 1965 professor at Reed College. He worked in a prison and later wrote two biographer about the serial killer Carl Panzram and the violent criminals Robert Stroud. Both books have been filmed. Burt Lancaster played Stroud in the 1962 released movie drama Birdman of Alcatraz and James Woods played Panzram, the classic 1996 thriller film Killer - diary of a serial killer.

On October 10, 1984 Gaddis died at the age of 76 of complications from cancer.
