Thomas Huckle Weller

Thomas Huckle Weller ( born June 15, 1915 in Ann Arbor, Michigan; † August 23, 2008 in Needham, Massachusetts) was an American bacteriologist, virologist and parasitologist.

Weller was able to isolate the causative agent of rubella.

For the discovery of the polio virus ability to grow in cultures of various types of tissue, Weller received 1954 together with Frederick Chapman Robbins and John Franklin Enders the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine.
