Thomas Lobb

Thomas Lobb (* 1811, † April 30, 1894 in Devoran, Cornwall ) was a British botanist. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " T.Lobb ".

Life and work

Thomas Lobb was with his brother William Lobb as a plant collector for the company Veitch & Sons go.

Lobb collected primarily in India, Indonesia and the Philippinen.1845 he found in the eastern Himalayas for the first time orchid named after him kind Phalaenopsis lobbii, in Karia Mountains in eastern India, next Nowgong in 1500 m the named also after him Hoya lobbii.
