Thomas Lodge

Thomas Lodge, was born probably in 1558 in West Ham, the second son of Sir Thomas Lodge, the Lord Mayor of London ( 1562-1563 ). He was educated at the Merchant Taylors ' School in Northwood and at Trinity College, Oxford. From 1578 he studied at Lincoln's Inn, but soon began - against the wishes of his family - his work as a poet. Lodges got dramatic work is relatively small. Among other things created (probably 1590) in collaboration with Robert Greene the play A Looking Glass for London and England (published 1594 ) and The Wounds of Civil War (1594 ).
