Thomas Maria Renz

Thomas Maria Renz ( born December 9, 1957 in Munich) is suffragan bishop in the Diocese of Rottenburg- Stuttgart.

Renz was consecrated on October 8, 1984 in Rome by Cardinal Joachim Meisner for the Diocese of Rottenburg -Stuttgart priest. On 29 April 1997, Pope John Paul II appointed titular bishop of Rucuma and Auxiliary Bishop of Rottenburg- Stuttgart. He received his episcopal consecration Bishop Walter Kasper on 22 June of the same year. Co-consecrators were the Auxiliary Bishops John Kreidler and Bernhard Rieger.

Until his appointment as Auxiliary Bishop Renz worked in Bad Saulgau. In May 1997, he was appointed canon. At 39 he was the youngest member of the German Bishops' Conference. He has been Head of the Department of Youth of the Episcopal Ordinariate in Rottenburg Board of the Youth Foundation just. Since 2005, Renz familiars in the Teutonic Order.
