Thomas Tellefsen

Thomas Dyke Acland Tellefsen (* November 26, 1823 in Trondheim, † October 6, 1874 in Paris) was a Norwegian pianist and composer.

Thomas Tellefsen was born in Trondheim, where he studied with his father, the organist Johan Christian Tellefsen, and Ole Andreas Lindeman. After 1842 he traveled to Paris, where he was a pupil of Charlotte Thygson and Friedrich Kalkbrenner. Between 1844 and 1847 he was also a pupil of Frédéric Chopin, whose friend he was to continue ( This is why an original death mask of Chopin is in Ringve Museum in Trondheim ).
