Thomas Thiemeyer

Thomas Thiemeyer (* 1963) in Cologne is a German illustrator and writer.

Biography

Thomas Thiemeyer studied art and geology in Cologne. 1989, his first book for teens for the Ravensburger publishing house was published, also worked as a graphic consultant for the Thiemeyer. He then started his own business. As a freelance artist, he illustrated games, youth books, book covers and much more. Among other things, he worked for Heyne, Arena, Fantasy Productions, Beltz & Gelberg, HarperCollins, Random House and Wizards of the Coast. More recently, he worked with the American director Darren Aronofsky. Bavarian Television devoted his paintings a 20-minute contribution to Space Art ( television series ). His work has been repeatedly awarded the Kurd - Laßwitz Prize and the German fantastic price.

In recent years he turned more and more to the letter. Appeared in 2004 at Earthscan his debut novel " Medusa". Many of his novels have been translated into several languages ​​and have become bestsellers: Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Czech, Polish, Russian, Korean, Slovenian, Turkish, Portuguese, Chinese and Ukrainian.

His stories are in the tradition of classic adventure novels and act frequently from the discovery of submerged cultures and the threat of mysterious powers.
