Thomas Tusser

Thomas Tusser (* October 19, 1524 in Rivenhall, Essex, † May 3, 1580 in London) was an English poet and author of agricultural work.

Life

Tusser came from a noble family from Essex and was educated at Eton and at King's College, Cambridge. He came as a musician and singer at the court of Lord William Paget. After ten years, he retired and settled in Suffolk as a farmer, where he his writing "A Good Hundreth Points of Husbandrie " wrote ( 1557). She was later to " Five Hundred Points of Good Husbandrie " ( 1573) extended and often reprinted in the following century. However Tusser was not successful as a farmer. He died in debt in a London prison.

  • The fictional character of the Time Warner Company, Penguin, is an educated Batman enemy - he reads the poems of Thomas Tussers.
