Thorgil Sprakling

Torkel Björnsson, also Thorgils Sprakalägg or Thorgils Sprakling called a son of Björn ( about whom nothing is known). He is the progenitor of the secured ( named after his daughter ) Estridsson dynasty of the kings of Denmark, who ruled the country from 1047 to 1412.

His children were:

  • Ulf Jarl († 1027), Jarl of Denmark; ∞ Estrid Svendsdatter, daughter of Sven Forkbeard and sister of Knut the Great
  • Gytha Thorkelsdottir; ∞ Godwin of Wessex († 1053 ) - the parents, among others of Harold II of England
