Thorsten Teichert

Thorsten Teichert (* 1963 in Berlin ) is a German economist and Professor of Business Administration ( BWL ) of Marketing and Innovation at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences of the University of Hamburg.

Life

Thorsten Teichert studied engineering at the Technical University of Berlin and received his diploma engineer. This was followed by an MBA degree from Union College in Schenectady, New York in the United States of America (USA).

PhD in 1993 Teichert at the Christian -Albrechts -University of Kiel. The topic of his dissertation was the potential for success of international R & D cooperation -. Teichert also acted as a Research Fellow at the Fuqua School of Business in Durham (North Carolina) in the USA.

In 2000 he habilitated at the WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management in Koblenz. As a topic of his habilitation thesis Teichert chose benefit estimation in conjoint analysis. Theoretical foundations and empirical validity.

Thorsten Teichert acts as chair of the Department of Marketing and Innovation at the Institute of Marketing and Media at the University of Hamburg. He also has a teaching assignment for R & D management at the University of Stuttgart. Teichert is director of the Institute for Innovation Management at the University of Bern as well as an honorary member and visiting professor at the University of Technology, Sydney.

His essentially practical activities include a job as assistant manager at the INPRO GmbH in Berlin. Furthermore, Teichert was head of department in the staff department Corporate Development at Thyssen Trade Union AG in Dusseldorf. He will continuously research accompanying consulting projects in the field of technology and innovation management, particularly for patent analysis and issues of new product development.

Research priorities

His scientific focus is on new product development and technology marketing, strategic technology and R & D management, market penetration, internationalization and networks, theory of innovation management programs, in particular empirical research approaches and radical innovations, time and diffusion strategies.

His interests include application Middle Market-oriented new product development, organizational innovation and interface management, Technological competitive analyzes, eg using patent data and surveys on consumer behavior.
