Thraseas

Thraseas († 160 in Smyrna ) was a Christian martyr and saint.

Thraseas is mentioned in Polycrates of Ephesus and Eusebius of Caesarea. Accordingly, he was bishop in Eumenia in Phrygia. He opposed the Montanists and is called the Paschal dispute as a representative of Quartodezimaner. In Smyrna, he was executed as part of the persecution of Christians. Martyrdom is a letter of Polycrates of Ephesus to the Roman bishop Victor I. According between that of Polycarp of Smyrna ( 155 ) and that of the Sagaris (166 /67). Thraseas is venerated as a saint; His feast day is October 5.
