Nemesis - The Attack (Original Title: Threshold) is an American science fiction and drama television series, which was produced by Brannon Braga for the U.S. television network CBS. The series aired from September 2005, production was stopped after only 13 episodes, of which CBS aired only nine. The plot revolves around a secret government project which examines the first contact with aliens. The scenario is reminiscent in parts to the movie Sphere - The power from space.
The series was first broadcast on Friday evening, and later moved to Tuesday because one of them hoped for higher ratings. The shift failed and the odds of the first Tuesday broadcast (22 November 2005) broke even further. CBS stopped then the series on 23 November 2005.
It is not clear when the remaining episodes in U.S. America are sent. The remaining episodes have been sent by the British broadcaster Sky One.
The first broadcast of the thirteen episodes in the German television took place on Mondays from March 3 to June 10, 2008 in the evening program of ProSieben.
Action
On 16 September 2005 appeared an alien probe in front of a cargo ship and sends a high- frequency signal. Much of the crew were swept away by it. The survivors are changing and becoming stronger and more resilient. They are driven by the impulse to infect other people by first using the alien signal, and later with the help of manipulated foods. To stop this threat, the organization is called Threshold under the direction of Dr. Molly Anne Caffrey in life. With the help of various specialists, they tried to stop the invasion.
