Thurber Prize for American Humor

The Thurber Prize for American Humor is an award that is awarded to U.S. humorist and satirist since 1997. He is regarded as the most renowned Humor Price of the country.

The Thurber Prize is worth $ 5,000. It is named after James Thurber (1894-1961), who has worked as a cartoonist and writer for the New Yorker. The jury will each consist of three well-known journalists and authors. The prize is awarded by the Thurber House in Columbus (Ohio ), dedicated to the care of the memory of James Thurber and the promotion of literature.

From 1997 to 2001, the price has been awarded every two years; annually since 2004. May be nominated publications that have appeared in each case in the previous year in the United States.
