Tiefenbach is a former municipality in Saxony Mittweida, which existed from 1994 to 2008. She lay on the northeastern edge of the county Mittweida and directly bordering on the counties of chub and Meißen. Tiefenbach was born from the merger of the places Berber village, Böhrigen, Dittersdorf, Etzdorf, Marbach and Obernaundorf and was until June 30, 2008 part of the joint management Striegistal. Since then, the places part of the extended community Striegistal that had arisen also in 1994. The name Tiefenbach comes from a creek that runs through the community.

Geography and transport

Tiefenbach was about 10 km south of chub on the Striegis. The B 169 resulted in the west of the former municipality is by Arnsdorf. The place is also on the south extending A to reach 4 Connection Berber village.

History

The villages were created before the foundation of the monastery of Old - cell in 1162. Böhrigen has already been mentioned in a document from the year 1183. Marbach 1264, Etzdorf in 1314 first mentioned. The other settlement nominations take place later.
