The Tietzowsee is located in the north of Brandenburg and is part of Rheinberger Lakeland. To the west it is connected via the Zootzenkanal with the Zootzensee to the north over a narrow with the Great Prebelowsee. To the south is connected via the channel cabin (also Jagowkanal ) for Schlabornsee and Rheinberger lake to Rheinberg. The lake has an area of ​​44 hectares and a maximum depth of 8 meters.

The Tietzowsee is part of the Rheinberger waters, a so-called other inland waterways of the covenant. Responsible is the Waterways and Shipping Office Eberswalde.
