Tim Frey

Tim Frey ( born September 19, 1972 in Basel), actually Timotheos Frey, is a Swiss politician ( CVP), political consultant and lobbyist. From April 2009 to June 2012 he was Secretary General of the CVP.

Life and career

Tim Frey graduated from 1990 to 1991 first a preliminary course at the School of Design in Basel. From 1991 to 1995 he was in Basel an apprenticeship as interior construction draftsman. After that he was self-employed until 1998 as a designer and construction manager in a studio in Basel. From 1998 to 2002 he studied political science at the University of Geneva, concomitantly, he worked from 1998 to 1999 as an intern in the communications department of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. From 2002 to 2009 he worked as an assistant and later as a test delegate, senior assistant and lecturer at the Institute for Political Science at the University of Zurich. In June 2007 he was the election observers of the national parliamentary elections in Mali, accredited by the National Electoral Commission of Mali ( CENI ). In 2008 he received his doctorate with a dissertation on the success and failure of Christian Democratic parties in Western Europe. On 1 April 2009 he became a follower of Reto Nause to the Office of the Secretary of the CVP. In June 2012, his departure was surprisingly announced at the end of the month.

Since August 2013 he directs the Public Affairs Department of the PR agency Burson- Marsteller Switzerland.
