Timo Schultz ( born August 26, 1977 in Witt mouth ) is a former German football player and current coach.

Career as a player

Schultz began his career at TuS Esen in his East Frisian hometown. Until 2000, he played for Werder Bremen. From 2000 to 2002 he played for VfB Lübeck. After that he played half a year for the Harburg TB 1865. From January 2003 to 2005, he was active for Holstein Kiel. He was singled out by the then coach Frank Neubarth even in the 2nd team. Due to massive protests of the Holstein fans, he returned yet again in the 1.Mannschaft back and could repay the trust even with gates. Nevertheless, he joined the 2005/06 season for FC St. Pauli in the Regionalliga Nord. He was initially intended only for the second team, but he quickly established himself in the first team and was instrumental in the promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga, and in the following season on the league in the season 2006/ 07. At the end of the season 2009/2010 Schultz rose with FC St. Pauli on even in the 1st Bundesliga.

In May 2010, he extended his contract by a further year until 30 June 2011. September 25, 2010, he denied then his debut in the first Bundesliga when he came off the bench in the home match against Borussia Dortmund in 83 minutes.

After his professional contract at 30 June 2011 had expired, Schultz signed a new contract to Amateur June 30, 2012 at FC St. Pauli. At the same time he was assistant coach of the team.

Career as a coach

Schultz began his coaching career in the 2011/12 season as an assistant coach by Jörn Grosskopf in the second team (U -23) of FC St. Pauli.

After the departure of Jan- Moritz light Schultz took his place as assistant coach of the professionals a for season 2012/13. In March 2014 he extended his contract - now as an assistant to head coach Roland Vrabec - until 30 June 2015.
