Timothée de Fombelle

Timothée de Fombelle (born 1973 in France ) is a French novelist and playwright. His novel - Dilogie Toby Alone found great recognition. His plays (Le Phare, Je danse toujours, Rose Cats, ...) have been played, edited and translated. Since 2008 he is working with the Ballet Company Paul les oiseaux and the choreographer Valérie Rivière.

Life

With 17 years Timothée de Fombelle founded a theater company, for which he wrote and directed his own plays.

Le phare ( German: The Lighthouse ), created in collaboration with the actor Clément Sibony, received the 2002 Prix du prompter and made de Fombelle known as a playwright. His plays are often of loss and fragility ( Je danse toujours, 2003), but he also is not afraid to tackle the comedy ( Pink Cats, 2008). He is one of the most renowned contemporary French writers today.

With the YA Toby Alone, published by Gallimard Jeunesse, he turned to the novel and achieved worldwide success. The novel was translated into 26 languages ​​and have won numerous awards, including next most French prizes for young people's literature and the Italian Andersen Prize. The film rights were acquired by Amber Entertainment. Toby Alone tells the adventures of Toby and his family, who are only half millimeters tall and live in a world of trees. In addition to the literary structure of the novel, the success of this work on the wealth of history and refined analogy between this world of trees, sick of human folly, and the problems of the real world.

Céleste, ma planète The bouquine was reprinted in 2007 in the youth magazine and later published as a book by Gallimard Jeunesse. The first volume of a new novel, Vango, appeared in March 2010, also at Gallimard. This saga takes a young hero, Vango, in the maelstrom of the 1930s. The second volume followed in 2011.
