Timothy J. Sinclair

Timothy John Sinclair ( born 1963 in Taumarunui ) is a British political scientist and economist and university professor.

Life

Sinclair attended St. Andrew 's College, Christchurch and graduated from the University of Canterbury, a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts degree in political science. After working as an economic and financial markets analyst at the New Zealand Treasury, the New Zealand Treasury, as well as government employees in the privatization of state-owned companies in New Zealand in 1989 he went to Canada, where he attended York University in Toronto a Ph.D. acquired. For his dissertation, he received a York University Dissertation Prize.

1995 Sinclair went to the University of Warwick, where he was Associate Professor of International Political Economy, and took British citizenship. 2008/2009 he was a Fellow at the University of York. In 2007 he received his doctorate at the University of Warwick Doctor of Letters ( D.Litt. ).

2013/2014 is Sinclair also a Fellow at Sheffield Political Economy Research Institute at the University of Sheffield. He is also a visiting professor at Kyung Hee University in South Korea.

Research priorities

Sinclair is engaged in International Political Economy, especially with the global financial system as well as with global governance. He achieved fame among other things, by his early involvement with rating agencies.
