Tiong Hiew King

Tiong Hiew King ( Datuk Tiong Hiew King Tan Sri ) is a Sino- burly entrepreneurs in Malaysia and one of the richest people in the country.

Tiong founded in 1975 Rimbunan Hijau Group which, currently the largest companies in the country which deals with the extraction of timber ( lumber ) by cutting down the rainforests. In the 30 years of its existence, the company generated according to estimates by Malaysia Today about 200 billion MYR (approximately EUR 42.5 billion, of course the end of 2004 ) Profit after taxes. The estimate was based on dividend payments, etc. In the Malaysian timber industry, only a small portion of the profits generated is traditionally taxed. Most far more profit is earned as declared in the context of widespread tax evasion.

Tiong also include Guang Ming Daily and, since 1988, Sin Chew Jit Poh - two of the largest newspapers in the country. Other newspapers include him in Papua New Guinea and Hong Kong.
