Tioulong Saumura

Tioulong Saumura ( born July 9, 1950 in Phnom Penh) is an Cambodian politician. She is married to the opposition leader Sam Rainsy since 1971. She currently lives in Phnom Penh and has three children.

She studied political science in the 1970s in Paris and also holds an MBA. From 1976 to 1982 she was employed by the Bank Indosuez in Paris. She then worked for the Robert Fleming Investment Bank ( 1982-1988 ) and the holding company MobiCo (1989 to 1993), both also in Paris. From 1993 to 1995 she was deputy head of the Cambodian National Bank.

Her political career began in 1981 in the FUNCINPEC party. In 1995, she joined the Khmer Nation Party ( KNP ), where she was from 1996 to 1998 member of the board. Since 1998 she is sitting in the presidium of the Sam Rainsy Party (SRP ) and is for those MPs in the Cambodian National Assembly.
