Titovka River

The Titovka (Russian Титовка; Finnish Vaalesjoki ) is the northernmost river in the European part of Russia. It is 83 km long.

Your catchment area of 1320 km ², is located in the northern part of the Kola Peninsula in the Murmansk Oblast. The Titovka has its origin in the lake Koschkajawr about 20 km southeast of the town of Nikel. It flows in a northeasterly direction and flows into the Novaya Titowska Motowski Bay of the Barents Sea. The largest tributary of the Titovka, the Walasjoki ( Валас - йоки ), drained the lake Kaskeljawr.

Along the river runs a large part of the border between the Pechenga and Kola Rajons. Between 1920 and 1944, the Titovka formed the border between the Soviet Union and Finland, which had at that time, with the port of Petsamo ( Pechenga Russian ) access to the Barents Sea.
