Titus Flavius Sabinus (father of Vespasian)

Titus Flavius ​​Sabinus was a Roman tax farmers and moneylenders and father of the future emperor Vespasian.

His father was Titus Flavius ​​Petro Reate in the Sabine country, who had fought in the Roman civil war on the side of Pompey. His mother's name was Tertulla. Flavius ​​Sabinus struck no military career. He was tax collector in Asia and later moneylenders at the Helvetii. Probably he was of knightly rank.

He married Vespasia Polla, with whom he had two sons, Titus Flavius ​​Sabinus and the future Emperor Titus Flavius ​​Vespasian.
