Toby Gad

Toby Gad ( born 1968 in Munich) is a German record producer and songwriter. His biggest success to date was Big Girls Do not Cry ( Fergie ). He worked for artists such as Beyonce, Brandy, Natasha Bedingfield, Mandy Capristo Fergie, Shakira, Nick Carter, Donna Summer and Selena Gomez.

Biography

Childhood and early musical experiences

He was early influenced musically by his parents, since both were active in the Munich music scene and among other members of the band "The Jazz Kids". At the age of four years he learned the banjo and piano.

The first successes

At the age of 13 he had with his brother Jens first successes in Munich. In 1986, when Frank Farian was looking for new talent, was a friend of the brothers to get this material on their work, which led to a seven-year collaboration with Frank. Frank eventually produced the first album " Q" of the brothers.

Commercial breakthrough

1990 met Toby the Mauritian singer Jacqueline Nemorin. Along with Frank Farian, he produced their first album " The Creole Dance" at BMG. 1994 produced Toby along with Klaus Frers their second album for EMI Europe.

Moving to New York
