Toe (Band)

Toe is a Japanese band. Although often associated with the genre post-rock is very similar to that of many math rock bands their music.

Toe consists of Takashi Kashikura (柏 仓 隆 史) on drums, Mino Takaaki (美浓 隆 章) and Hirokazu Yamazaki (山 嵜 广 和) on guitar, and Satoshi Yamane (山根 さとし) on electric bass. This occupation has not changed since its founding in 2000.

Along with the bands Mouse on the Keys and Enemies they are part of the small independent labels Machu Pichu, which was originally founded by some members toes.

The majority of their music is instrumental, in some parts however, they are accompanied by Japanese singer Toki Asako. Toes sound is mainly characterized by the rapid and precise game Takashi and the melodic guitar riffs and Takaakis Hirokazus. Most striking is the frequent tempo and rhythm changes, by getting their compositions to their unique style. Over the past years, they expanded their sound by acoustic guitars, Rhodes piano and vibraphone helped themselves.

The group regularly tours throughout Japan and can be mainly compared to bands like The Album Leaf and Pele.
