Tofana di Dentro di Mezzo and di Roze

The triumvirate of Tofane (Italian Tofane ) is one of the best known and most prominent peaks of the Dolomites. The Tofanen lie west of Cortina d' Ampezzo and dominates the Valle del Boite ( Boite valley ).

With a height of 3244 meters, located in the middle Tofana di Mezzo is the highest of the three Tofanen and at the same time after the Marmolada ( 3343 m ) and the Antelao ( 3262 m), the third highest mountain Dolomites. The Tofana di Dentro ( rear Tofana ) has a peak altitude of 3238 meters, the Tofana di Roze (front Tofana ) is 3225 meters high. Most frequently ascended the Tofana di Roze, either via the normal route of the northeast flank, or about the famous Mountain Climbing Via Ferrata Lipella in the western flank. The other two peaks can be reached via via ferrata. On the Tofana di Mezzo leads from Cortina d' Ampezzo from the cable car Freccia nel cielo ( German: Sky Arrow ').
