Tok tok tok

Tok Tok Tok is an acoustic soul band from Germany. The singer Tokunbo Akinro (texts ) and the saxophonist and drummer Morten Klein ( composition and arrangement ) are the heads of the band, which cooperates with alternating fellow musicians.

Band History

Tokunbo Akinro is the daughter of a German mother and a Nigerian father. Her early childhood was spent in Nigeria, at the age of ten years, she returned to Germany.

Morten Klein is the son of a Danish woman, his father is Berlin. Danish was his first language.

Tok Tok Tok began in 1998 as a trio (Voc. / Tenor / bass) with Frank Fiedler ( later Olaf Casimir ) on double bass. In 1999, she already integrated selectively the Fender Rhodes, the soon addition to the Mouth Drums (Acoustic Beat Box ) by Morten Klein, should become an additional trademarks. Initially known only in northern Germany, Tok Tok Tok expand their concert activities in 2000 to Germany. With the release of the album "About" they are the world to São Paulo in Brazil and many of Paris, Madrid, Kiev, Warsaw, Milan, Sofia, Vienna, Bratislava via Tallinn, The Hague, Tel Aviv. popular festival guests.

Because the Mouth Drums taking an ever larger space with time, Morten Klein decided in 2006 that it was time to integrate real drums. So he could again concentrate on the tenor saxophone. After 6 drums free albums released in 2006 withfrom soul to soul their first CD with Matthias Meusel on drums.

All albums to 2006, took on the Icelanders Hrólfur Vagnsson; since Reach out ... and sway your booty (live, 2007), Tok Tok Tok, along with Oliver Noack and Frank Schmidt. So even when they are published by Universal Music for the 10th anniversary of Tok Tok Tok " She and He" (2008).

Tok Tok Tok have released twelve studio albums in 15 years, two live albums, a live DVD and a best-of album. On its publication in 2010, " Revolution 69" Tokunbo Akinro and Morten Klein have spellbound with their fellow musicians of the 50th anniversary of the Beatles Beatle their own edits. With " What does that mean? " they released their first and only German -language album in November 2011. In September 2012, Tok Tok Tok publish farewell a live recording of their unique Gershwinkonzertes with the NDR Pops Orchestra from 2007, with soul arrangements by Morten Klein and Hollywood sounds of Enrique Ugarte.

Before Tok Tok Tok disbanded in March 2013, they parted with a "Goodbye Tour" of their audience. Their last concert was held on March 17, 2013 in Neumünster near the Danish border instead.
