Tököl

Tököl ( German dachshund, Croatian Tukulja ) is a Hungarian town in Pest county. It belongs to the small area Ráckeve.

Tököl located on Csepel Island, about 20 km south of the Hungarian capital Budapest. The town center is approximately 1 km from the left bank of the Danube.

History

Tököl was first documented in 1270. Tököls neighbor cities, Halásztelek and Szigethalom were until 1951 part of the former city area.
