Tom DeFalco

Tom DeFalco ( born June 26, 1950 in New York City ) is an American comic book artist and editor. He is best known for his work with Spider-Man.

Life

Born in Queens, New York, DeFalco began his comic career in 1972 as an assistant in the editorial by Archie Comics. There, he developed the Archie Comics Digest Series, a publication which appears today. Having worked as an editor out he also began to write comic books, so he worked alongside Archie also, among other things for the series Spider -Man, Scooby Doo, The Fantastic Four, Wolverine, Josie and the Pussycats and The Flintstones. In addition, he also designed merchandising articles on the series. At the beginning of the 1980s, he headed for the Hasbro team, the history and designs for the GI Joe ( Action Figure ) action figures, television series and other products of the franchise developed. Later, he also worked for the franchise Transformers.

In 1987, Tom DeFalco as editor in chief at Marvel Comics. and also wrote several comic books themselves, including a number of daughter of Spider -Man, Spider-Girl. In DeFalcos time as editor, many new and short series were launched. But when the sales decreased in 1994 and Marvel was facing bankruptcy, DeFalco was dismissed and his post until 1995 occupied again, with Bob Harras. Even after DeFalco continued writing for Spider -Man, the Fantastic Four, as well as some graphic novels.
