Tom Glavine

Thomas Michael Glavine ( born March 25, 1966 in Concord, Massachusetts ) is a former American professional baseball player with the position of the pitcher ( pitcher ). He began his professional career in the MLB in 1987 with the Atlanta Braves, with whom he could win the World Series in 1995. In addition, he was selected this year for the MVP of the World Series. In 2003, Glavine to the New York Mets in 2008 and returns back to his old team. He was twice awarded the Cy Young Award for the best pitcher of the league and is only the fifth left-hander has won 300 games in his career. On 3 June 2009 set free the Braves Glavine, whereupon he announced his retirement from active competition.

Prior to his time at the College Glavine was also a talented hockey player and was (before the later NHL superstar Brett Hull and Luc Robitaille ) selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the NHL Entry Draft in 1984 in the fourth round at position 69, but pulled out a baseball career ahead.
