Tom Turesson

Tom Turesson ( born May 17, 1942 † 13 December 2004) was a Swedish football player and coach.

Career

Turesson played in youth at IK Rex and Vendel tom in 1960, before he made his debut in 1961 with Hammarby IF in the men's team. By 1968, he was active for the club and then moved to Belgium for Club Brugge. In his two years abroad, he managed a Cup victory. In 1970 he returned to Sweden and still played until 1976 for Hammarby IF. In total he played 227 games in the Allsvenskan and shot 49 goals.

Turesson played 22 times for the Swedish national team and scored nine international goals. The country selection, he participated in the 1970 World Cup and scored in the 1-1 draw against Israel, his only goal of the tournament. Because of the goal difference against Uruguay, he had to leave early with the team as a group of third parties.

After the end of the active career he became the coach of Hammarby IF. In 1978 he had to leave the office for health reasons. Because renal failure several times had to be transplanted organ.
